Description

The Yvette loudspeaker stands as a culmination of Wilson Audio’s legacy—deeply rooted in the groundbreaking success of past models while embracing the most advanced research and development from the brand’s current era of innovation. For decades, Wilson has shaped the landscape of high-end audio, and Yvette is a testament to that legacy and continued pursuit of musical truth.

In the late 1980s, Dave Wilson’s WATT/Puppy redefined what was possible in home loudspeaker design. It was revolutionary—transforming expectations of resolution, dynamics, and realism—and remains the best-selling speaker in the over-$10K category in history. A decade later, the Sophia followed, offering a more accessible gateway into Wilson Audio’s world. Known for its musicality and ease of use, the Sophia won hearts by delivering the signature Wilson sound with a uniquely approachable personality. Many music lovers’ first experiences with Wilson Audio began with Sophia—making it a deeply cherished part of the brand’s story.

Yvette draws inspiration from both of these milestones, but it is not merely a greatest-hits reissue. Instead, it embodies a profound evolution in speaker design, incorporating cutting-edge technology developed alongside Wilson’s latest flagships. Elements of design and engineering were directly informed by the Sasha Series 2, the Alexia, and the formidable Alexx. Yvette even shares key components with these top-tier loudspeakers, offering listeners a taste of reference-level performance in a more compact, room-friendly package.

Central to the Yvette’s performance is the MK III Convergent Synergy Tweeter, Wilson’s latest and most refined high-frequency transducer. First developed for the WAMM Master Chronosonic, this tweeter addresses critical elements such as rear-wave diffraction and resonance control, producing astonishingly natural resolution and spatial clarity. It integrates seamlessly with Wilson’s proprietary midrange driver, ensuring tonal cohesion across the frequency spectrum. Together, these drivers deliver a listening experience that’s both technically precise and emotionally engaging.

Wilson’s commitment to materials science is evident in every aspect of Yvette’s cabinet construction. The enclosure is built from two proprietary composites: the third generation of X-Material—an ultra-inert, vibration-dampening material used in structural applications—and S-Material, which was specially developed to optimize midrange performance. This combination results in an acoustically silent enclosure that allows the drivers to operate at their full potential, free from coloration and distortion. Every surface, joint, and angle is engineered for ideal time-domain performance and dispersion characteristics.
