Description

The Rossini separates were designed to expand on the feature set of the one-box Rossini Player, delivering a system that elevates musical performance. It incorporates the latest dCS Digital Processing Platform and Ring DAC technology, originally developed for the Vivaldi series, with a single FPGA that enhances signal processing and future-proof flexibility.

The Rossini Transport upsamples CD data to high-resolution DSD, DSD/128, or DXD (24-bit 352.8 kS/s) and transmits it via Dual AES/EBU. SACDs play in native DSD format, while native CD and downsampled SACD data are available via multiple PCM outputs. The Transport's steel frame, cast aluminum disc tray, and vibration-dampening materials ensure rigidity, while low-noise disc reading enhances performance. It can be controlled through the Rossini app, allowing seamless management of CD, SACD, digital, and UPnP sources.

The Rossini Transport works with the matching Rossini DAC or any suitable DAC, operating in Master mode or synchronized with the DAC’s clock. Performance is improved by adding the Rossini Clock and using the dCS auto clocking architecture, which minimizes jitter and enhances sound quality.

Made in Great Britain, the Rossini chassis uses aerospace-grade aluminum with acoustic damping panels to reduce vibration and magnetic effects. Multi-stage power regulation isolates the mains transformer from analog, digital, and clock circuits, ensuring clean power. Rossini’s firmware can be updated via CD, allowing dCS to enhance features and performance over time.

Listening to digital music through the Rossini system, listeners experience a natural, faithful reproduction of the original recording with powerful sound, transparency, and an immersive, realistic experience.

Digital Outputs

Dual AES interface on 2x 3-pin male XLR connectors (AES1+2). While an SACD is playing, the interface outputs encrypted DSD data. While a CD is playing, the Settings > Upsample Mode menu page sets the interface to output either encrypted DSD data (1 bit at 2.822MS/s) or DXD data (24 bits at 352.8kS/s) or DSDx2 data (1 bit at 5.644MS/s). AES interface on 3-pin male XLR connector (AES3), outputs 16/44.1 data, whether a CD or SACD is playing. 2x SPDIF on 1x RCA Phono and 1x BNC connectors. Each outputs 16/44.1 data, whether a CD or SACD is playing.

Power Supply

Factory set to either 100, 115/120, 220 or 230/240V AC, 50/60Hz
