The construction of the Olympica Nova V is a testament to the brand's commitment to craftsmanship and quality. The cabinet is made of hand-finished walnut or wengè wood, offering a timeless aesthetic that will complement any home environment. The front baffle and top are seamlessly set into a solid die-cast aluminum plate, adding a touch of sophistication to the design. As with all Sonus faber speakers, the leatherwork is a signature touch, with natural Italian leather embellishing the Voice of Sonus faber – the signature configuration of tweeter and midrange – and enhancing the aesthetic rings around the woofers. This leather is applied by hand in the Vicenza production facility, staying true to the brand’s dedication to fine craftsmanship.

Technologically, the Olympica Nova V is built to impress. The 28 mm silk soft dome tweeter is equipped with Sonus faber’s DAD™ technology (Damped Apex Dome™), which improves high-frequency extension and smoothness. The DAD™ structure has been re-engineered, with a solid piece of aluminum die-cast included on the dome to enhance strength and accuracy, ensuring the highest quality sound reproduction. The midrange driver, completely designed and built in Sonus faber laboratories, uses a unique blend of air-dried cellulose pulp, Kapok, Kenaf, and other natural fibers. This specially treated cone reduces resonance and delivers more transparent sound with greater detail, giving the midrange a natural, rich character.

For the woofer, Sonus faber employs a special sandwich construction technique, combining two sheets of cellulose pulp with hi-tech syntactic foam. This lightweight, high-rigidity structure enhances the speed and power of the low-end, while maintaining perfect coherence with the mid and high frequencies. Structural rigidity is taken to the next level, with the cabinet walls made from eight layers of bended wood, ensuring maximum durability and minimal vibration. The Olympica Nova V also features the Stealth Ultraflex™ system, a unique, low-turbulence porting design that facilitates smoother airflow through the cabinet, reducing distortion-causing turbulence and improving sound clarity. The crossover network utilizes Sonus faber’s Paracross Topology™, which significantly reduces radio-frequency interference and enhances transient response, creating an exceptionally low noise floor. The exclusive Clarity Cap capacitors used in the filtering topology are custom-made for Sonus faber, ensuring the highest performance and musicality.
