The PhoenixUSB combines the functionality of three distinct components into a single, elegant unit: a USB regenerator, a linear power supply, and an external master clock, each with its own dedicated linear power supply. This innovative design not only simplifies the setup but also significantly improves the quality of the USB signal, providing audiophiles with a true upgrade in performance.

At the heart of the PhoenixUSB’s signal regeneration is a USB chip that eliminates the common pitfalls associated with switching regulators. By avoiding switching components, the device ensures that the regenerated USB signal remains clean, with no unwanted noise or distortion. The chip is powered by three independent voltages, all supplied by a dedicated linear power supply. This is complemented by three LT3045 regulators, known for their exceptional low-noise performance, further refining the power delivered to the USB chip for the most accurate signal possible.

The PhoenixUSB also integrates a high-precision 3ppb OCXO (Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator) clock, which operates directly at 24MHz. Unlike traditional systems that rely on external master clocks with additional 10MHz and 24MHz generators, the PhoenixUSB features the clock directly on the board, just a few inches from the USB chip. This close proximity ensures that there is no loss of precision due to the length of cables or the limitations of connectors, providing a much more accurate and stable signal.

To further elevate the performance, the PhoenixUSB employs two independent Statement-level linear power supplies. One of these supplies is dedicated solely to the 3ppb OCXO clock, ensuring that it receives the cleanest possible power for precise timekeeping. The other power supply is used to power the USB chip and the 5V USB line, delivering the necessary energy for optimal USB signal regeneration without interference or distortion. With this dual power supply approach, the PhoenixUSB maintains the integrity of both the clock and the USB chip, ensuring that both components perform at their highest potential, ultimately enhancing the overall sound quality.
