Dan D'Agostino Momentum M400 MxV Monoblock Amplifier

The Momentum M400 MxV amplifier features significant enhancements across every major section. A new transformer winding pattern increases current output by over 50%, providing greater headroom for dynamic passages. The redesigned input stage incorporates a new circuit topology with advanced components, while new bipolar transistors deliver ten times the current and power of previous devices, improving low and high-frequency response with reduced distortion.

The driver stage includes a new bias stability circuit, increasing operating bias by 50% for better Class A operation and improved sound quality. The Copper heatsinks and updated circuit topology ensure consistent bias and prevent excessive temperatures, even under demanding conditions. Additional power transistors reduce the workload of each device, improving efficiency and resulting in a richer, more dynamic sound.

New high-output transistors, sourced from the Relentless Monoblock Amplifier, run at an impressive 69 MHz, enabling the Momentum M400 MxV to achieve extraordinary bandwidth. These transistors are mounted with stainless steel fasteners to ensure optimal thermal transfer. Capacitor/resistor networks ensure stability at high frequencies and with low-impedance speakers.

Despite its compact design, the Momentum M400 MxV is a powerhouse, driven by a new ultra-quiet 1,800VA transformer and nearly 100,000μF capacitor bank, delivering up to 1,600W into 2Ω loads. Its innovative cooling system with Venturi-style heatsinks ensures efficient thermal management, while the fully complementary driver section boosts current drive and open-loop gain for a more expansive and authoritative sound.

Each Momentum M400 MxV is hand-built and tested in D'Agostino's Arizona factory. Original Momentum amplifiers can be upgraded to M400 MxV performance, with all electrical improvements and a new 400-watt meter plate reflecting the increase in power output.
