Shelby Lynee’s Just a Little Lovin’ is an emphatic tribute to British singer Dusty Springfield and features covers of nine songs popularized by Dusty, in addition to Pretend, an original song written by Lynne.
When you pick up this Vinyl of the Month pick, take special note: this copy is presented in 200gram, and cut to the LP from the analog master sources – which is a costly process. Why? Because everything recorded after 1992 are stored individually and never a compiled album master. To cut this LP from tape, they had to have a mastering engineer assemble an analog master, so then they could cut the record to LP. Basically, a whole lot of extra work!
If you have the original Lost Highways pressing, be prepared for a night and day difference between the two regarding sound quality. You’ll appreciate the mixture of great music, lively performance, and an excellent recording. The highest charting album of Lynne’s career, this album was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Engineered Non-Classical Album category for the 51st Grammy Awards.
Available at our Seattle or Bellevue showroom at a fantastic low price until 2/28/19.
